    The snag is that would of course produce a large amount of extra irradiated dust, and cause damage for miles around. But hopefully most dust would soon sink to the bottom of the Pacific.

          There's a web site or program one can use to convert normal "pixel videos" to ASCII animation.

          Apparently it looks surprisingly good for high-contrast fast moving scenes and cartoons.

          (As the link is on my home PC, which I can't access until friday, you'll have to take my word for it.)

            Can't be arsed to check, but I thought the main problem is with caesium-137, which decays all on it's pretty little ownsome, unlike U-235 which can be checked by neutron absorbers to prevent the chain reaction.
