I do play an online MMORPG and it's still just as scary. Can be fun playing spot the spotty male geek / teenager playing the hot, scantily clad female charecter though

DAoC is top, pity I had to force myself to stop playing because you have to play everyday otherwise your online partners there will get to way too high level for you to fight with
These days I only play Red Orchestra - can come and go quickly, no committment.
I play FFXI when I have time to waste on it and CS:S when I dont
Dont know much about the other MMORPG's around. WoW is certainly flavour of the month atm but seems to suffer from growing pains.
FFXI is excellent if you are a fan of FF in general and is a stable and mature game now. New content on a regular basis and plenty to keep you busy. The downside is the grinding required to level your charecter and crafting skills. Requires more time to get to the level cap than WoW from what I've heard.
