        This happened last year to a C17 as well. Landed at a small comercial airport instead of a military one not far off.

            Conversation between pilots on that flight....

            Pilot : (Irish accent) It's going to be a short land.
            Co Pilot : (Irish accent) Full breaks, full flap and reverse engines upon touch down. Got it.

            Plane comes in to land, hit tarmac, breaks screeching, burning rubber smell.

            Pilot : B'jesus that is a short runway, only just managed to stop in time.
            Co Pilot : To be sure but look at the bloody width of it!!!!
