                Yeah it was lovely, sat around playing board games and being almost normal. Had to tell my eldest I'll not be going home though, which was upsetting. He asked outright, and I can't lie to him or give him flase hope that would be worse.

                  Honesty is definitely best with kids. And it's fine for them to see you upset, means they know it's OK for them to show they're upset too. Sounds like they've had a nice, family day to remember.

                    Yes honesty, maintianing trust. I never lie to them. They learn from what you do not what you say, how I conduct myself now will likely have a big influence on him so I have to demonstrate the values I want them to have.

                    I can see he's going to be a good man already though. I'm ever so proud of him. I guess all parents are.
