When my mum was in (I think it's the same hospital) she was in a ward full of dementia sufferers and it was hell. I tried for about two weeks to get her moved - in the end it just took one call from my sister (who's a nurse, but now lives in Oz) - it's knowing who to ask for.
I'll drop her an email and find out who she spoke to.Comment

My father had the same thing. He was in the lung ward since he had lung cancer and it was very noisy but there was no reason why he should get a private room.
