    Hmmm... Inneresting.

Not sure how people like the RSPB and RSPCA are funded.

I know they get contributions from members of the public & the RSPB gets money from its members but do they get a significant amount from, say, the National Lottery ?

And if they don't tow a certain line they won't get that money?

If you're going to ban windmills because bird might fly into them, you'd also have to ban airplanes. And windows.

        No need to ban them.

Just stop dishing out the subsidies to the developers who put them up.

Something like that - Dellers dishes some dirt.

50%+ funding by members, rest by the usual suspects, including financiers of renewables.

...partnerships are a lucrative business for the RSPB. Over a period of ten years, it admits to having made around a million pounds from its association with SSE. No doubt it hopes to achieve similar success with its current arrangement, whereby the RSPB will receive £60 for every member who signs up for a dual-fuel account with Ecotricity, and another £40 when members open an account with Triodos bank, which finances many renewable industry projects including wind.
            Yes. Answers my question, really.

              Applause for Denmarks courageous decision.

I don't know why it should be courageous though.

You have to be cruel to animals because it says so in a book? How is that a defence in the 21st century

We allow it in the UK, but then we bend over backwards to accomodate imported cultural barbarisms
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

There have been Jews in Britain since at the latest 1066, and probably before then under Roman rule; I take it they have carried out kosher slaughter all that time. When does a cultural practice cease to be 'imported'?

(NB I am not asking about the merits or otherwise of different slaughter methods)
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

They were kicked out of England in 1290 and not allowed back in until 1656 - mostly fleeing to France - since Edward I relationship with the Scots is well known I doubt few made it up there
