Maybe it's meant to maximize productivity, on the grounds that no one will spend a second longer than they have to in the ghastly things.

Also, from a management standpoint I suppose it makes them less convenient to indulge in immorality or nefarious purposes, such as "solitary vices" or shooting up drugs etc.

Possibly it's to discourage using the cubicles for drug abuse purposes.

Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Plus I guess they're a bit easier to clean if you're pushing a mop about

They may also be a hangover from the frontier mentality whereby you want to know who is where, to avoid any nasty surprises with robbers jumping out on you (bit of a long shot that, but a remote possibility)

Maybe they're installed as a safety precaution when MF starts work in a building.

You'd prefer someone was watching you? Each to their own, but again, contact NLadyUK for a quote.

I was talking to the wife about this last night and she has a friend who moved to France a few years ago. She was telling her about the bogs in her son's local school (junior school I guess, since he's 10). Not only are there no partitions between the bogs, they're also unisex .

I can only assume you get conditioned to not give a damn because I find the thought of that, even at the age of 10, horrific.

I also believe that the US military have an unpartitioned bog policy as evidenced in the film Stripes. We're gonna teach you to crap like a marine boy!

                      Why? I can't say I'd particularly give a crap.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.
