Anywhere outside the M25 is an improvement, what about Stratford-upon-Avon/Warwick, easy trip up the M40.

Just to calibrate the answers. Places I would rate high: Waddesdon Manor, Poole harbour, Snowdonia

They are all abroad - you need a passport. Why not a nice trip to the end of one of the tube lines?

A warning though - some of the people that far out don't have butlers.
