    Thank u Landrover
Some really useful information reading through the forum tonight - my APN was for a manageable about (at a push) however my main concern is the PBT..
I worry when they will start digging into these schemes and the APNs start.
Anyone else with the same concern?

No criticism here SCR, we were and are all in the same boat. I too have 3 PBT years under my belt and they have already started digging around these by sending compliance check letters, asking for info. Just send it to AML who will deal with it accordingly. My personal opinion is they will come after these with APN'S, but they will have to do it via other means, as these were non-dotas. This will probably take a bit of time, but be prepared.

Thanks so much getting back to me any feedback is grateful.
Seems that we have a long wait ahead to find out what happens..
I also have had one compliance check sent. I have also heard that we should check that the compliance check was sent within 12 months of the tax return for that year - if not we are within our rights to ask that the case is closed - before everyone jumps on this I agree HMRC will not just close cases they feel they have a chance of winning. Who knows just clutching at straws

I started with AML in 2014 and I have stopped couple of months ago. I had a month of AML PBT in FY 13-14 April and have received a compliance check. Do people know what sort of settlement offers are presented. I think I have just abt enough saved up if the tax they ask for is 40% of Loan value. AML say they are handling enquiries at the moment. What has been PBT experience? Has anybody received APNs yet?

The settlement offers are apparently over.

AML are still active. I suggest that in the first instance you contact them and discuss the position but be aware of their potential conflicts of interest. Then get some professional advice. then join a group.

Default AML and received HMRC letter

Following a very sleepless night I could do with some advice please. I have read loads on this forum overnight and still a little confused.

I joined AML in FY13/14 and have received a letter from the HMRC questioning my SA return for that year. AML have also contacted me and said that they will liaise with the HMRC on my behalf. I am also still with AML and therefore now concerned about FY14/15 and 15/16.

    Questions:
    1. What is the likelihood that I will have to pay for FY 13/14
    2. If I do then am I automatically admitting liability and will have to pay for FY 14/15 and 15/16?
    3. Should I be getting out of AML asap and going back to a limited company or umbrella?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask .. but I am feeling a little desperate!

    Thanks.
