complaint to the SRA about Gladstone's

Update - re my complaint to the SRA about Gladstone's.

They have had numerous complaints about Gladstone's which is great, and are working through the detail of my particular complaint as we speak. They apologised for the delay but it was good to see that many have put forward similar gripes about Gladstone's. I have given them a copy of my agreement and as much information as possible to aid them.

I am sure someone on this forum will shoot me down. But I thought id share the update.

I also had the same response from SRA, and I mentioned that I had moved property since using the IOM schemes, so believe that Gladstone have been abusing their access to DVLA records, to find peoples latest addresses.

The reason Gladstone have access to DVLA records, is that one of their main tasks is to chase people for payment of parking fines, so hopefully if they have that access revoked, it will cause them some deserved business disruption.

Possible fly in that ointment. If I were Gladstones (I'm not) I would say the address came from public records. Companies House, Electoral Roll, Credit Rating Agency etc....

+1 - I can't see how you get a person's address information from a car registration system without a lot of additional work - I mean how do you know someone's car registration (unless you are stupid enough to have a personalised number plate)

From information we have.

When the alleged loans were allegedly assigned from trust to Felicitas, address details were included.

Felicitas has asked its agent - Gladstones - to undertake certain action and as such has passed over information it holds in order to assist that process.

If there are questions over the sharing of personal information therefore a better seam to mine would probably be why a trustee, charged with certain legal obligations, shared data with an alleged purchaser of trust assets.

Given that both the main trust companies here are owned by Baker Tilly in Douglas, a Google search will bring up sufficient information to make an enquiry.

It has indeed brought in GDPR however its administered by the IOM Government's Information Commissioner. Their website is here Isle of Man Information Commissioner

The IOM Commissioner is quite aggressive with data controllers so could be of assitance.
