No written off email as yet
I was with Darwin and have not had the write off email as yet. May be they are doing it in batches over a period of time. They did the same with the letters, as some of you had received the demand letters a week ahead of myself.Comment

I see the scammers are trying a different tact, very predictable and other methods will likely follow, before they give up altogether. Feels like they are getting desperate.
Be warned this is a data and fear war! Keep both in tact and throw their correspondence away, I wouldn't even open the letters. That's my opinion and I have maintained that position from the start.Comment

Just a word of advice, these emails come loaded with tracking pixels, so they know if you've opened them.
Set your email clients not to download images automatically to defeat this.Comment

I'm in the process of settling, which is not complete yet. I've contacted HMRC to ask them to explain why I need to settle what they claim was disguised remuneration on my part when I have Gladstones solicitors chasing me for unpaid loans. I also notified them about being chased by THL about a year back.
They asked me bits about the trust, but told them I just have the letters from Felicitas, I don't know any further. All the purported trust details are on the letter.
Long story short, they want me to send scanned copies of the letters to them and forward the emails from THL to [email protected].
Not sure what I'm expecting to come out of this exercise but who knows.Last edited by Superfly; 5 May 2020, 13:32.Comment

Will be interested to see what you get back from them.

I know Webberg said the loans do not absolve of the tax obligation, but I'd rather put it to the test. Webberg is a rainy-day scenario kind of guy, when it suits him.
I'm not holding my breath but will post if I get anything useful back from HMRC.Comment

Question to everyone who has received the loan write-off emails.
As far as we know, loans were written off for Darwen and Sanzar users.
Can people who have received the write-off emails confirm that they were only with Darwen or/and Sanzar and did not cross over to any other scheme.
I feel that they have sent out letters to Darwen and Sanzar people because there was no loan application made by the scheme user prior to recieving the loan payment (it was automatic in those early days), so they do not have any enforcement power hence the purported loan write-off.Comment
