You do need to be rather more discriminating.

We have details of around 150 schemes on our books that fall into perhaps five or six types.

Even within types however, there are variations.

Are some more risky/foolish/dangerous than others?

Probably not. HMRC thinks that none of them work as intended but equally save for what we call Lazarus schemes, (a scheme to solve a scheme), none of them are seen as fraudulent or attracting heavy penalties.

The advice above is all valid.

There are a large number of unanswered questions here some of which will be very relevant to determining whether there is in fact any liability at all.

We would observe however that the letter seems to claim that there is evidence of debt but crucially it does not provide that evidence. Our internal legal team is clear that no evidence equals no liability.

We are therefore in the process of collecting information and individuals in order to properly analyse the situation.

We anticipate having enough information to put a strategy together before the claimed deadline.

And yes, we anticipate charging a fee to those seeking advice here. In line with our other campaigns in this space, it will be modest. Given the target audience that this scheme seems to have, we will almost certainly offer instalments as well.

As always a call and discussion with us is free and comes with no obligation. Ask for Tom Wallace who is heading this.

I'm sure that any competent solicitor or insolvency specialist is also able to help. Just be aware that many will need some coaching and educating as to what the scheme is and how it works. I would hope that many would not charge for the time spent in getting to the start line, but I cannot control their pricing policy.

I'm also sure that other advisers with experience in this space will be able to help even if their primary expertise is tax. Most of us have built up connections and adviser groups of our own who can be called upon.

I would say to all out there DO NOT PAY ANY MONEY unless and until there is a proven liability.

Looking at what we have, that may be some time off.

      Hi WTT,

I have sent details of my case last night however have not yet received a response or acknowledgement. Reading your message above I'm getting slightly mixed messages on whether you have the capacity and resource to take take on the case? Is your plan to develop a strategy and then approach clients? Just need to know where I stand as the matter is time critical.

      Thanks

A word of warning Ladies and Gentlemen.

In the past we have had scheme advisors pretending to be punters caught up in this kind of mess.

Their modis operandi is to ask you to contact them using email away from the forum (either publicly or via PMs), and then try to persuade you to to drop proceedings/provide you with false information and certainly to stop posting negative things about the original scheme or the debt collectors (presumably to try and keep the brand ‘clean’).

Be aware of those who try this, test the waters of any WhatsApp group for this kind of thing happening.

And let the Mods know what is happening, we will deal with the forums our end without letting on who informed us.
To reiterate. If you get anyone attempting via private message or publicly on the forum to get you to contact them via email, alert the moderators.. You can forward us the private message.

Has anyone actually managed to get through to the liquidators? I’ve called them several times and I keep being told that they’re unavailable/in a meeting/out of office. It’s ironic that they’ve sent out a letter with a deadline..

Is anyone dealing with any other companies other than WTT?

They have pretty much just ignored me and the earliest I can even speak to anyone there a call is a week?
