You need to look to leave now.

If you were more sensible when the news was announced it was going to happen you should have moved in summer.

I was turning down PS contracts as soon as it was flagged on here it was going to happen.

Competing for contracts as ex-public sector in the private sector? Being called Gaz and trying to look more professional than white van man?
Nope, give us a clue northers.

He says 7 of them are going in March. He seems to have forgotten there will be 1000's and 1000's of others doing exactly the same. Good luck finding the next gig........

I think much of it will depend on the individual contractor. If you're good and prepared to leave over it you have a decent chance of jusitifying a rate increase and/or wfh to compensate for this. If you're average/crap, or if they think you're bluffing then it's much less likely.

Absolutely this. The more cynical / realist faction will have moved quitely before the stampede.

Why does everybody think private sector will be ok after April?

The sector itself will be fine. The flood of contractors from the public sector will confuse things and may suppress rates. Stick where you are please.

Obviously didn't understand what I was getting at....

A new online tool will be available by April 2017 for all to use and will make it easier to
apply the rules regardless of sector.

....do you think it will be on the side of the contractor regardless of sector?

I knew what you were getting at, that's why we're on here looking at the public sector.

NLUK's question to you is far more pertinent in the immediate future though.

I'm personally more interested in what happens to the private sector. Public Sector is obvious.
