    Laptops after Apr6th

the company owns the laptop at present. After Apr 6th I become an Umbrella Co employee and will need a laptop. If I buy the laptop from the company or lease it from the company, can I claim this as an expense on my self assessment?

Just use the laptop. Don't much about with claiming it off the company.

If you’re deemed inside IR35, then your client should supply you with a laptop.

As for you “needing” one, just use your company one until you wind up the company. Then keep using it

It’s not about using a laptop, of course I can use the thing. The question is about the possibility of claiming it as an expense when I am an umbrella employee. And no it is not the most pressing thing I think about.

But leasing a laptop at 15/week To offset 780 quid against 40% tax seems like an idea. If you all have a spare 700 quid send it to me.
