    Working for Small Companies

Sorry if this is a silly question but I’ve read conflicting reports on what is the definition of a small company. I’ve heard it said that to not be affected by the new rules, the company must have no more than anything more than anywhere between 20 and 100 employees. Does anyone know what that figure is?

Also I believe there is a certain turnover threshold regardless of number of employees. Could somebody confirm that please. Thank you.

    • Fewer than 50 employees
    • Less than £10.2 million turnover per annum
    • Less than £5.1 million on the balance sheet

Any 2 out of those 3 defines you as a small company, making you exempt from the IR35 legislation.
