Stars look lovely out there away from the street lights, though. Orion is particularly fine, high in the southern sky

Any sign of the Attack Ships on fire off the shoulder?

      After all, this is 2019.

This evening's film has been Anon (2018), set in a not-too-distant future where everybody is tracked all the time by something or other implanted in their eye or somewhere; it's a bit Black Mirror in tone, with neat Augmented Reality effects that reminded me of one of those futuristic Microsoft videos from about ten years ago. It's been criticised for lacking depth, which is fair; but I still found it an enjoyable enough way to pass ninety minutes. So no need to rush out and buy, but if it comes your way, give it a look

And the episode of The West Wing with Penn and Teller. What is it with Americans and flag-burning? If somebody wanted to burn the flag of the UK, I'd just shrug; it's their bit of cloth. But some magicians make an American one disappear in a puff of smoke - which obviously means they hid it somewhere, as a flag couldn't burn that fast - and the American Press go bananas over it. And yes, it's made up, but we all know it's a completely accurate depiction of what would happen in real life. America's weird

        Goodnight all

Especially when you consider that the legally approved way of disposing of a US flag when no longer required, is to burn it.

                Morning all.

Cold, clear, blue skies here atm.

Wind has dropped from yesterday. Dog now willing to venture more than 2 feet from the back door again.

                  Morning denizens

Sunny out, but chilly; some frost still lingers in the angles of roofs where the sun has yet to reach
