and dinner was the last of the fish pie from my last culinary spasm.

      very nice it was.

watched them building 'ford' class carriers.
      complex things, those.
but describing an electromagnetic launch system as 'new' technology was a bit rich.
i first encountered 'rail guns' in 60's scifi.
and maglev trains have been around a while.

      i despair.

            Are you that ?

Lunch was Heinz baked beans on Morrisons pumpkin seed toast.

Tea was M&S battered haddock, followed by stewed blackberries and custard, completed with 1.05 pints of Good Glengettie Tea.

            It was very nice.

The evening's televisual treat began with an ancient ep of NCIS, followed by "Rambo (2008)" with that Sly Stallone chap again.

            Rambo (2008) - IMDb

It was extremely violent and bloody.

I'm sure it didn't do a bundle for the Bermese tourist industry.

Now watching "Aircrash Alaska" about some unfortunate who piled his aircraft onto a road & burned.

One hopes he was dead due to impact beforehand.

Now watching the thing on BBC4 about the Krauts running on crystal meth (Pervitin) during the last major unpleasantness.

"World War Speed: the drugs that won WWII".

I wonder if benzedrine will get a mention.

              Yup.

Sounds like the tank crews were high as a kite in the desert war.

And the slimming pills in the 50s.

And JFK though no mention of Doctor Feelgood.
Saw this on iPlayer and have downloaded for viewing this weekend.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

                    I’ve got 5 chickens = 4-5 eggs per day.
Currently harvesting figs, late raspberries, tomatoes, courgettes
Waiting to harvest pears, apples, grapes, lettuce, beans

                    And preparing for next year.

Unlike some people (unnamed as it would move this post elsewhere), I have a vision for the future, and a workable plan for how to get there.

^^ That sounds a bit survivalist.

I don't think I've ever had a plan, cunning or otherwise.

                      Now Rambo-ed out. 1, 2, 3, & 4.

5 is out this year apparently.
