    Oh, ok then.

Followed by a rather more cheerful thing about the windscreen that blew out of a BAC111 without killing anyone, due to an unfortunate selection of fixing screw when then windscreen was replaced earlier.

The engineer took out 7D screws, which apparently were supposed to be 8D screws and ignored the advice of the stores man who said they didn't have any 7D screws anyway coz they should be 8D.

So the engineer buggered off across the airport to another stores and got screws which were, rather unfortunately, not 7D either.

    Ho hum.

It was OK; though it did rather give the impression that Scorsese thought "Well, Goodfellas seemed to work, so how's about just doing the same thing all over again"

    Goodnight all

    Morning denizens

My mother's feeling a bit better and is out of bed today

I'd like to say it's my presence that has healing powers, but she attributes it to yesterday's fish and chips

Nice breakfast of rosti (with embedded fragments of bacon) and more bacon. Makes a change

Vaguely wanly sunly out there now.

Bought some beef for tomorrow (that I could equally easily have got out of the freezer) and a fine selection of preloved dvds.

On the stagger up to Tonna lock observed a Jay singing its remarkable song.

    ♫ Jay - song / call / voice / sound.

And I thought jackdaws were rough.
