Lunch has been a bacon bap (wholemeal)

And in the post, Barney Farmer’s new novel, Coketown. Should be a brilliant read if it’s as good as his first, Drunken Baker, which I’m sure it will be

Well that's another hour and a half I'll never get back.

In last night's Oak Island nutjob epic, they found wood.

          Mud.

          More wood.

What might be a coconut fibre.

          More mud.

Something that might be a French military cap badge.

          More mud.

The pilings to make the cove coffer dam are ongoing.

          More mud.

          Possible tunnel.

Some old lady called Xena or Zena popped her clogs at 88 and left a lifetime's research into the Knights Templar to the nutjobs.

All in all, a lot of mud.

And the crossbow bolt is now thought (by yet another nutjob) to be part of a roman spear tip.

What did the romans ever do for us?

          Next week: more mud.

<hiatus wherein no one posted a damn thing >

Tea this evening was more of yesterday's roast beef.

          It was nice enough.

Accompanied by The Battle of the Somme outside.

"They" ban jacky jumpers and bangers, so instead we get Chinese fireworks with yields in the kiloton range.

Quite spoiled my enjoyment of my 1.05 pints of Good Glengettie Tea.

I hope the cats are bearing up under the strain.

It appears I might be coming out of retirement.
Not for a bunch of bananas, but for a banana plant, if you get my drift.

              i'm still not sure though.
still, it might just be interesting enough.

Finally watching World War Speed. Proving very interesting thus far. The Lancaster really didn't afford much protection to its crew!

Made a soup from random veg in the fridge. Seems edible if a little thick but I can water it down when serving up. All portioned up and cooling off ready for putting in the freezer later.

                Bins out.

They're good round here. Collection Tuesday and Friday. Technically, it's bags rather than bins out. I could/should put them in the communal bin but I just put the bags at the top of the stairs that go down to my patio and they get collected from there. The bin men will check the patio anyway so it saves them coming down the stairs for nothing
