Tea tonight was prepared in haste as I'd been mucking about programming without realising what time it was. Gammon steak, chips, beans, and fried egg it was; and it's an unreasonably delicious meal for something that can be prepared so quickly

The Apple TV stuff is going smoothly; the tutorial I'm following does things in a quick-n-dirty way, so I keep distracting myself by planning more organised ways of doing the same thing. But it runs, and it shows stuff on the screen the way it's supposed to

The DHL flight from Milan to EMA just went past the window - well, a few miles away and several thousand feet up.

After some more ditzing around with TVML (Apple's TV Markup Language), this evening's all-action feature was a rewatch of The Bourne Legacy (2012). The rather choppy editing style can be a bit annoying at times; somebody's in a scene, then it suddenly cuts to that person and other characters talking about something else, and you work out it's supposed to be something that happened in the past just as it cuts back to continue the scene that was happening in the first place. But once you get used to it, or they stop doing it, whichever comes first, it's pretty good

And a bit more of The West Wing, still out on the campaign trail rather than in the White House, which is better; they seem to have run out of ideas for the WH by this point

          Goodnight all

Morning all mostly clear skies here and cool on the walk.

In other news, I've had a minor health issue for a couple of weeks. Having spoken to a qualified person, they told me that there is a virus doing the rounds and that it should go in the next few days, I decided to have a laugh and google my symptoms.
The first hit was the Daily Express which said I probably had swine flu from which I will probably die if I don't get it treated urgently (and a point about the disease being the fault of a certain group of countries).
The second hit was the Daily Mail, which said I probably had bacterial meningitis, which killed most people who got it and which was sometimes mistaken by poorly qualified doctors as swine flue.
The third hit was GOSH, which suggested I should chat to a pharmacist, that it's most likely related to stress and is nothing to worry.

Back in October 2001 I remember seeing a 747 flying over Forest Farm in Cardiff which concentrated a few minds at the time.

And stuff used to be in a holding pattern over Loughborough back in the (very dim & distant) day.

                In other news: Grey.

                That is all.

Other than amazement at the remarkable seapersonship displayed by the USN in the thing in the links.

Oh, we don't have the available crew to use the Mark One eyeball on both wings of the bridge.

                Really?

You can't see a cargo ship lit up like a fecking Xmas tree?

                Remarkable.

Makes one wonder exactly how well A Real War would go.
                When the fun stops, STOP.

Not to mention essential maintenance being cancelled because a certain President wanted "an armada, very powerful" to back up his bluster

As part of the health drive, today's lunch is spinach, kale and garlic soup.

It's going to be windy later on...
