Due to the unavailability of Jeremy Kyle, today's first feature is "Shane (1953)" with Alan Ladd, Jean Arthur and Van Heflin.

    Shane (1953) - IMDb

There's a chap by the name of Walter Jack Palance in it too.

Gosh I thought for a moment it was a pan & scan dvd but the original film was 4:3 so the pan & scan bit was done when they filmed it.

      Shopping done!

A little rain on the outward journey, but it's been holding off since then

This week's News for Sainsbury's Shoppers: the large bottles of Filippo Berio olive oil are half price, making them a fair bit cheaper than the smaller ones. (Maybe that's crap olive oil, I don't know, but it's good enough for the likes of me.) And the own-brand recycled kitchen roll disappeared from the shelves a few weeks ago. It's back, with what are asserted to be twice as many sheets per roll; for this cornucopia, you'll now pay £2.20, up from £1.45 for the puny, diminutive kitchen rolls of yore. (As always, there'll be a five to ten pence premium for the same things in Sainsbury's Local.)

Now, lunch: a couple of Southern not-fried chicken thighs from the once-hot-but-now-rapidly-cooling food counter

Oh, and the new Viz Comic is out

In fact, it was out about a week ago, but I missed their announcement of this fact on Twitter because I was trying (with limited success) to do something more useful with my time

            Wot's that in pints?

The cottons are WMed and now in the TD.

The shirts are WMing and should be out when the cottons are dryish.

Then the coloureds will go in the WM while the shirts are TDing.

            Meanwhile it's pissing down again.

Raining steadily now and should continue into the night, according to the pocket oracle

Will stop raining here 9pm - so you are about 3 hours East oh here.

                    Weather forecast great for tomorrow.
