    Good luck with that.

Having got slightly bored with Joan of Arcadia, now watching "Great British Car Journeys" with the vitinaries (pretend).

They've done the Jowett car club and now it's a steam car. <chuff chuff chuff>

    Stanley Model M.

    Top speed 75mph.

    Brakes on back wheels only.

    1908.

    $2500.

    1908 Stanley Model M

    And now an Austin 7.

The puddle jumper, not the mini.

        Very nice, as usual

After the chaos of last week, they weren't at all busy this week. Putative reason: "Half term"

With some of our giant courgettes, The Wife (tm) made a rather tasty chocolate cake.

              Isn't a giant courgette a marrow?*

              Just askin' like?

One of those things I really really really don't miss Strangelove Pater growing, especially when he planted more than one of the damn things.

I remember one year there was one hidden under the leaves & it got so large it had to be cut up with a saw.

*Indeed it would appear that is so.

All the usual stuff; so no, not a lot really

Tonight's main feature film presentation was Platoon (1986), one of those films that was big at the time but which I've never seen before. It's fairly standard Vietnam film fare: burn a village, witter on about the futility of it all, get stretchered out on a helicopter. Good enough as these things go.

And after that, a rewatch of Ex Machina (2014), which I do like as being rather more intelligent and thoughtfully paced than most robot uprising things

Showers here now, which will apparently continue through much of tomorrow.

                  Goodnight all

^^I see your "Platoon" and raise you "Hamburger Hill".

                    All total & utter insanity.

Morning all if all there be and the world hasn't ended while I slept.

                    Grey.

                    Dark.

                    Dank.

                    Drizzly.

                    Dreary.

                    Depressing.

                    Ho hum.

Sunday. As determined by the organ music & other whitterings on R4.

In other news, the light in the defrosted fridge doesn't work any more.
