      Walk walked

Some kind person left me a nice single use carrier bag full of empty tins, which I then used to collect yet more empty tins.

Potched about with a couple of streams at the viewless point in a probably futile attempt to stop the steps being washed away.

A remarkable amount of water still descends.

Glad you're Ok. Got some piccies of Worcester flooding from a colleague. The Severn has burst its banks. Bridges closed...

Cheers, the River Neath is quite short, so it's up & down like a whore's drawers.

Though the river would be lapping halfway up the back garden if someone hadn't built a canal in the way 200 years ago.

Next door's garden is now dry and I don't have to paddle to get to the car today.

The poor sods in Aberdulais live in "Canal Side", a row that was scheduled for demolition 30 odd years ago because of this very problem.

IIRC the houses were bought very cheaply with the knowledge that they get flooded quite frequently.

House prices in Canal Side, Aberdulais, Neath SA10 stand at GBP72,830 on average - Zoopla

Saturday 13th October 2018. Tonna, South Wales, UK. Flooding effected the villages of Aberdulais and Tonna in the Neath Valley in South Wales after Storm Callum brought heavy rain and wind to the area causing the River Neath to reach bursting point. Pictured are residents of Canal Side who woke to find their properties and gardens flooded. Two residents stand outside their flooded homes. Still sunny out, but rather breezy

Never ending meetings today. Would be great if they weren't all via Webex.

WebEx meetings are great, if you remember to go on mute.

Most of those meetings I never have to do anything and can usually bluff my way out of napping if I suddenly find myself having to respond to something.

Lunch was a mediocre tuna mayo sandwich with sweetcorn and cucumber.

Someone brought in some mini Colin the Caterpillar cakes and put one on my desk so that was snaffled for an afternoon break from the tedium.

Clocking off at 4pm I've decided.

Rumours are spreading about my imminent departure from ClientCo with a few people doing the "before you go, would you just..." thing. It's not 100% confirmed yet, it's about 85% I'd say.

Just had one with a lady from France. At one point she asked if there was a bad echo on the line, I said no, then the "echo" stopped.
Next she asked if there were birds near my desk.

Yes. The "echo" was Tayla & Jamie, the guineafowl.
They sound like geese and not particularly French or human.
