HMRC have the pension information available (granted it's not to hand but it's accessible)....

Given the sector that person works in I suspect the issue isn't so much IR35 and deductions of employer NI as the umbrella firm being as dodgy as f***.......

I know where he got the £3333 from the point was that there are a lot of reasons why it's not relevant. For instance:-
1) front loading pension payments so that you can take a outside IR35 contract if one came along,
2) having historic unused allowances which could be used....

It's worth adding that a change in contract would be a significant lifestyle event - above and beyond the lifestyle events that impact employees....

Which was our entire point - you are asking the wrong questions and approaching it from the wrong direction.
Do you need to worry about the £40k limit or could you save more? As if you haven't used your previous allowances (and had a pension) you have more than £40k to play with.

Ask them - as unless the employer is reimbursing those expenses I really can't see how it would work...

Yet you talk about an £18 payroll run.
Which isn't exactly expensive and means that the service you are going to receive is designed to be as automated as possible. Perhaps the issue is that you need to ring more companies and not pay so much attention to the price....

It's up to you to find an umbrella company that can perform the tasks you need them to do.
Why have you signed up for one without asking the questions you are now asking?...

So it's a blanket ban on contractors
Perfectly valid and the path of least risk for the company (once any hold out contractors have left)....

Where have you got the idea that the limit is £3333 a month. It may not be if you haven't maxed out your pension contributions in the past 3 years
As for everything else - ask the umbrella firms you want to use. Only they can tell you how they work and how they do their pension paymen...

But you need to be paid living wage so you will need to take £10 or so an hour in wages for the hours you work (so £80 a day say).
Then ask for everything else beyond that amount to be put into your pension pot.....

That was the reason I pointed you at clarity as it allows you to enter the actual figure after the pension deduction.
So £3000 with 20% going into your pension you enter a figure of 3000-600 = £2400
Umbrella payslips have a habit of being complex due to issues such as holidays...

What's the issue. If it's because the figures don't look right Clarity's website has a calculator that should tell you what the tax deductions should be......

Only if the subcontracting clause was originally valid and not a fig leaf which wasn't supposed to be actually used...

Well I can see what they are doing but the idea was closed off back in 2016 https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/...crackdown.html...

+1 - every contract I've taken is based on what can I do after this contract, money has never been that important, interesting projects and the contracts options after this one are way more important.
Plus IR35 is only an issue because we are used to using limited companies. For new contractors...

So go and hassle admin as it's a commercial decision (to pay Tapatalk money) that he needs to decide upon....
