Late lunch: sausages and bacon in buttered sesame bloomer toast. Lovely stuff, and to hell with the calories

It's a 2014 compilation (which was repeated last year) of his earlier (1971 to 1986) BBC stuff from 21:00-22:00, then a new compilation of stuff from his 1990 BBC series from 22:00-23:00, according to a chap on Twitter who worked on the first one ...

It's been about a year since I last watched it and we've all learned a lot since then, so it was time for a rewatch of Contagion (2011). There's a number of things that don't make much sense with the hindsight we now have (a wristband might be OK for Glastonbury or the Cambridge Folk Festival, but it's...

Really nice tea: chicken thighs in red wine sauce, with chips and peas

And there's a couple more portions cooling down so they're ready to migrate via an overnight stay in the fridge to the freezer

I'm saving it so I have something to look forward to later in the month

I've set a reminder to do it before Monkey Life starts, as it's a Sunday....

Yes, just had a look at it and lost any sense of urgency. I'll set a reminder

The other year, I got the census records for this place from the late 19th century. I think it was 1891 that there was a Methodist minister staying here with the family and their two household servants. If...

The mundane laundry has been retrieved and draped over the clotheshorse in front of the fire

Won't be long until it's warm enough to go back to drying it in the kitchen

I put the mundane laundry in the washing machine this morning, but postponed starting it as I was going to have a shower and I don't think the system here was designed to cope with both eventualities simultaneously.

For the third time since then, I've remembered that I needed to put it...

Sounds mildly ominous but you never know, they might think of something to flog the end client ...

Walk briskly walked, prescription collected, green ring closed

It's not much warmer out there than the last couple of days, but there's no chilly wind so it feels a lot milder

Disconnected the battery from the charger and checked the voltage; 13.1V which is… too much

But I left it half-an-hour or so to settle down, as they can read differently when they've just been on charge, and it was a more reasonable 12.8V (and a few hundredths, can't remember)....

    Lunch: pancetta omelette

Battery's still charging. It had lost a few tenths of a volt overnight as well, so I suspect it might be up the creek. Still, I'll let it carry on for a while and hope for the best

Thanks/Likes are a bit of a mess in many ways, due to the developers of the plugin that provides them not having updated it for a long time while, allegedly, they dealt with legal issues surrounding material found on their work computers

No idea if that's actually true, but vB...

Do you mean links contained in private messages, or links to private messages, e.g. from the Message Centre page? And if the former, do you mean links internal to the forums, or external links (i.e. to domains outside contractoruk.com), or both?...

Just popped out the back to observe activity around the newly-vanished wall. There isn't any

Still, the manager guy comes on Wednesdays to take out the non-recyclable rubbish (no idea why; I assume it just fits into his schedule better than doing it the day before bin day), so...

"The protection relays were capable of storing a record of why each trip had occurred. However, the option for storing historical data concerning blackouts was not chosen at build and the information which could have identified why the generators shut down was not recorded." And I'm sure somebody...
