Late breakfast of home smoked kippers and poached eggs.
Need to smoke some more as this was the last batch in the freezer.

Day of cooking lined up, harissa, beetroot soup, ketchup and maybe a crumble with pears, apples and blackberries from the garden.
Started off nice and sunny, got caught in a torrential downpour while at the local market.
Watched the new Bill & Ted last night, good, harmless fun.

Gave in and had fish pie this evening. Used some salmon and prawns instead.
I miss proper chip shop chips.
We have elephants living next door as well, one of the next door kids is unable to go upstairs in their house without making it sound like a herd of elephants clomping upstairs.

Alternating between torrential downpours and then sun, BBQ and smoker are still chugging along quite nicely.
Haddock has just gone in the smoker, should be ready in a couple of hours.
Breaking in my new fermentation jar with hot pepper sauce.
It's now in self isolation for the next 14 days.

Lighting the Egg now so I can slow roast tomatoes and onions for Ketchup, chillies and peppers for harissa and then roast the smoked beetroot for a soup.
Was going to make fish pie for tea today but think it will wait until Sunday. If I smoke the haddock today it needs a day or two for the flavour to settle.
Lunch of home made soda bread and boiled eggs.

Fishmonger managed to get some haddock in specially for me, they're a tad smaller than the usual fish, but can't complain.

We had a flurry of viewings when our place first went on the market in blighty, then it kinda died down. Finally managed to get rid of the place a few months later.

Found some home made fish stock in the freezer, had tinned sweetcorn, cheated and used crab sticks.

Kedgeree for tea. Running low in my home smoked cod, they don't really do cold smoked fish in cloggers.
Haddock is impossible to come by, so I ended up buying a smoker and doing it myself instead. ...
