Car manufacturer says that people need to buy more cars

Seriously, who at the BBC thinks this is newsworthy enough to publish?

I wonder if they included BlackBerry in their survey?

Can't be ar5ed searching but are there any ministers / ex ministers on the board or paid as consultant at EMC?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

      Simples!

Re-write your cv to look like a DR specialist sit back and BOOMED! I could sell my 8 year old son to consult on this topic...

      Child: is your website important?
Adult: Don't be silly! Of course it is. Its our only route to market...
Child: Do you back it up?
Adult: Of course we do! We hired some nice bobs in a hurricane belt to look after it for us, and they have spent the last 5 years backing up just the database transaction logs because all our data is stored in there...
Child: Do you ever try and recover the logs?
Adult: No don't be silly the bobs would want more money if we did that...
Child: do you ever ask to see the backup reports?
      Adult: erm... no... Why?
Child: Well you know that you can only use a transaction log to replay as far as the first failed/missing transaction log. So the first time any backup fails to complete successfully, you are toasted...
      Adult: ...

      You get the point...

I don't think I have worked on a client in the last 10 years that would survive a good old fashion biblical outage... Many of them just go through the motions because its too much effort to think about recovery properly.

Almost three-quarters of firms and public sector organisations across nine European countries may not fully recover their computer systems or data after an IT failure, a survey suggests.
        Only three quarters? Bollux.

One recent client with outsourced IT services suffered a comedic 4 day outage of their "HA" system due to a power glitch. It wasn't at all due to the numpty ****ers messing about with the disk arrays in production hours.

          They survived.

          MyCo has survived.

I quite like Simon Jenkins even though he writes in the Guardian and is a bit of a liberal. He has a point which is to kick start the economy that instead of printing money and give it to the banks to pay higher wages to their staff they should dole it out to us>

            It will never happen though.

Exactly. We need some wage inflation.
