I get this EVERY time I log in. Drives me nuts because my device isn't offline and at the second attempt the login always succeeds.

Not the end of the world but all those extra key strokes are tiresome....

Mine does that too, but the screen is mostly in Russian when that happens.

Is it at the Windows login screen when you boot the computer up?
When did you last shut the computer down fully?

You are getting the message because Windows *thinks* that you are off-line and is asking you to use the local account for the account that you used when you were last on-line.

^^ You probably know this already.

I would assume that you are getting this message because your computer is *not* connected, but is very shortly after you enter your account details... this sounds like there is a delay in starting the necessary services on your device.

Do you log-in from a cold start each day, or from hibernation?

You are getting the message because Windows *thinks* that you are off-line and is asking you to use the local account for the account that you used when you were last on-line.

But I can turn off my wifi and still log in successfully on the second attempt even though I'm offline

I mostly sleep it but restart every 2-3 days
