I bought a new Nissan Murano recently and the satnav reports speed cameras about 150-200 yds ahead of the camera. "Speed Camera detected"

Obviously not a radar gun detector but useful for the fixed cameras that seem to be your issue.

On my motorbike I have a Garmin Zumo 550 and that has a built in/updatable camera database, and bleeps when it approaches a camera.

Its weird that people will pay hundred's of pounds for a device they will apparently take notice of, yet, ignore a device already fitted for 'free' in their car ie the speedo!

Lots of excuses but if you go down the route (no pun intended) of a snooper, road angel et al, you are keeping the mindset of not knowing or being aware of, the speed limit either via signs or the type of road you are driving on.

Why have an egg-timer that goes ping, when you could look at a clock!

It's useful to have a backup/reminder in case.

What you need is a Radar Jammer, not just a detector. They scramble the signal for a few seconds so you can slow down to the limit by bouncing back a ridiculous reading to the Laser gun, like 300mph. When they read it again, you've obviously slowed down. I'm sure there maybe some "Perverting the course of justice" slant to using one, but better than losing ones license - DYOR first.

A quick Google showed one here.

I use my European Tom Tom Live with Speed Camera updates (not a detector). I was planning on taking it to France with me next month but didn't know about the speed camera thingy.
