Be interested to know who the UK company is? Most UK companies would know exactly what VAT rules they have to follow as would have company accountants in house to follow the correct rules. Is your UK client a small software house or independent consulting company? Maybe the majority of their staff are not UK nationals?

Thanks for the opinion. It was mentioned to my Client by an accountant that there may be paperwork involved with Dutch tax authorities re: VAT. I do hear from the Umbrella company that they have other clients in UK and they do not file anything with dutch tax authorities. As with everything, no one has a convincing answer as to whether something is involved or not. So i thought experts here may have answers or a reference to rules/laws I can read and understand.

It is indeed a small company. Although they have accountant(s) and have asked opinion from a few people, the response seem to be not conclusive as to whether some paperwork is involved with Dutch tax authorities re:VAT. Majority are from UK. My case is exception as I am a useful resource
