Default Mortgage Application and Umbrella Company

On a MA when it asks for employers details would these be the umbrella company (Parasol) or the company my current contract is with?

Or are you officially self employed in this situation?

I have been with Parasol continuously for 3+ years but in my current contract for only 1 year.

    Any ideas?

Are you employed by Parasol or by the client or do you employ yourself?

If you can't answer this you don't deserve to hold the responsibility of having a mortgage IMO.

Have you asked your umbrella company? Usually they will have a specialist mortgage provider that they work with

I might add that I have had the experience of describing my situation as employee of MyCo Ltd to the building society, and them having no problem with that but insisting "we describe that as self-employed". Not much you can do if the lender has their own definitions of words.

Thanks I'll give them a call, I've never really thought about my actual employed status before! just work pay my taxes and spend the money! lol!...

OK just spoke to Parasol who confirm that they legally are my employer, I thought they may just hold the status of payroll company or accountants but they get this question everyday and are in fact the employer.

Hopefully this will at least help anyone else asking this question and who finds this thread using the search facility.
