Dell techie 'took female caller's porn'

Dell has responded to a female customer's claims that a technician working in India on the computer giant's behalf downloaded nude photos of her during a support call.

Tara Fitzgerald, of Sacramento, California, says she sat and watched as over a dozen compromising pictures of herself left her desktop PC after she granted the techie remote access.

In a statement to ABC news, Dell said it had contacted its contractor in Mumbai about the allegation and said that the worker, Riyaz Shaikh, no longer fielded calls for Dell.

A Dell spokesperson was reported to have added that the company is working with Fitzgerald to resolve the issue, which is understood to date back to December 2008.

At that time, and after the call with Shaikh, a website called 'bitch tara' was set up to show the pictures, which Fitzgerald says were intended only for her boyfriend.

"My life has been violated" she told reporters, adding that the reason she rang Dell's helpdesk was to get help retrieving the images, on what was then a new Dell PC.

Fitzgerald, who also says that Shaikh charged her credit card $800 to buy Dell kit for another woman he once gave tech support to, is said to be considering legal action.
