About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join our team on a contract basis to support the delivery of residential refurbishments projects . The ideal candidate will have strong technical design and detailing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality working drawings and construction documentation in line with current UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and develop detailed technical drawings, specifications, and tender packages.
*
Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and consultants through all RIBA stages (typically Stages 3–5).
*
Ensure all designs comply with current Building Regulations, CDM, and other statutory requirements.
*
Coordinate design information between disciplines and manage revisions efficiently.
*
Liaise with contractors and suppliers to resolve technical queries during construction.
*
Support the project team in delivering on time and to budget.
*
Contribute to BIM model coordination (if applicable).
Essential Skills & Experience:
*
HNC/HND or degree in Architectural Technology or related discipline.
*
Proven experience working as an Architectural Technician / Technologist in the UK.
*
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or ArchiCAD (specify preferred platform).
*
Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
*
Experience preparing and coordinating technical drawings for tender and construction.
*
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*
Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.
Desirable:
*
Chartered or Associate Member of CIAT (or working toward it).
*
Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection software (e.g., Navisworks).
*
Previous experience in [sector – e.g., housing, education, healthcare, or commercial projects].

Working knowledge of NBS specification writing
