Are you a confident Teaching Assistant who is great at building relationships with younger pupils? Perhaps you have experience in behaviour support, mentoring, youth work or sports coaching and want to bring those skills into a primary school?

Long Term Futures is recruiting a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work within a Year 1 class at a welcoming primary school in Haringey.

You'll provide a positive and consistent presence in the classroom, helping pupils stay engaged, manage their behaviour and develop the confidence and routines they need to succeed at school.
About the Role

Support pupils throughout the Year 1 classroom
Provide targeted support for children who need additional help with behaviour and engagement
Build positive relationships and act as a strong role model
Encourage pupils to manage emotions and make positive choices
Use movement and active learning to re-engage pupils where appropriate
Support phonics, reading, writing and early Maths activities
Lead individual and small-group interventions
Reinforce clear boundaries and classroom expectations
Work closely with the teacher and SENCo to monitor progress Ideal Candidate

Experience working with children in schools, behaviour support, mentoring, youth work or sports coaching
Confident supporting pupils who can display challenging behaviour
Energetic and engaging while maintaining clear boundaries
Able to build rapport with younger children
Calm, patient and consistent
Previous primary school experience is desirable but not essential for candidates with strong transferable experience Why Long Term Futures?
