Contract: 3 Months Initially
Rate: £286.28 per day (Umbrella)
Hours: 37 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Officer to support a busy local authority on a fully remote basis.

This role focuses on managing a caseload of annual reviews and completing the process of amending and issuing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The successful candidate will be confident producing high-quality, legally compliant plans within statutory timescales.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of EHCP annual reviews from amendment through to finalisation
Draft, amend, and issue EHCPs in line with statutory requirements
Review professional reports and advice, incorporating these into plans
Liaise with families, schools, and other professionals to agree amendments
Identify and obtain any missing information required for completion
Prepare cases for panel and finalise plans within an 8-week timeframe
Deliver approximately 10 high-quality amendments per weekRequirements:
Proven experience as a SEND Officer / EHCP Officer within a local authority
Strong knowledge of EHCP legislation and statutory processes
Ability to produce clear, concise, and legally compliant plans
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environmentAdditional Information:
This is a fully remote role, however candidates will be required to collect equipment in person from the council’s office in Shefford at the start of the assignment
Standard working hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm, with some flexibility (e.g. 8:00am – 4:00pm)
