Beckfoot School is looking for a compassionate, driven and highly organised Pastoral Assistant to join our dedicated pastoral team. We are a successful and inclusive school within the Beckfoot Trust, committed to creating a safe, supportive and ambitious environment where every student can thrive.

About the Role

As a Pastoral Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour and personal development. You’ll work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding leads and teaching staff to ensure every student feels valued, understood and supported.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Pastoral Assistant who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

Provide day‑to‑day pastoral support to students, including one‑to‑one conversations and small-group interventions
Assist with behaviour management, monitoring conduct, attendance and punctuality
Build positive, professional relationships with students, parents and staff
Support the safeguarding and wellbeing agenda, escalating concerns appropriately
Maintain accurate records and contribute to pastoral reports when required
Promote a positive school culture that reflects our values of respect, inclusivity and personal growth
The Ideal candidate:

Is caring, patient and confident in building relationships with young people
Has strong communication and organisational skills
Can remain calm under pressure and approach challenges with empathy
Works well as part of a team and shows initiative
Is committed to safeguarding and student welfare
Ideally has experience in a school, youth work or pastoral environment
