GCSE Tutor (15-Year-Old Student)

Job Details

We are seeking a patient, experienced, and adaptable Tutor to provide 1:1 support for a 15-year-old student with ASD in the New Forest.

The student is currently working towards GCSE Geography, Maths, and English and requires a tutor who can build a positive, trusting relationship while delivering personalised learning support. Due to significant anxiety and sensory needs, a calm, flexible approach is essential.

A driver is preferred, as the role may involve supporting educational outings, field trips, and activities as part of a broader engagement programme.

Location: New Forest
Hours: 15 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Subjects: GCSE Geography, Maths & English
Type: 1:1 Tutoring

The student experiences communication and interaction difficulties associated with autism and anxiety, which can impact engagement, social interaction, and access to learning. They benefit from low-pressure environments, predictable routines, and trusted adults who can provide consistent support and help them regulate when feeling overwhelmed.

Requirements

Experience working with students with ASD and anxiety-related needs
Ability to deliver GCSE Maths, English, and/or Geography
Understanding of sensory processing differences and emotional regulation
Patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
Ability to build trust and support engagement at the student's pace
Experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or SEN support
Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
