About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and skilled KS1 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in St Albans from September 2026. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for one academic year, offering an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils during a key stage of their educational journey.

The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering engaging, creative, and inclusive lessons that inspire young learners and support their academic, social, and emotional development. They will create a nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Teach and inspire pupils within KS1, delivering engaging and creative lessons across the curriculum.
Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils and ensure inclusive classroom practice.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear feedback and identifying next steps for learning.
Maintain a positive, nurturing, and well-managed classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
Contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in school events and activities.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply and will be fully supported throughout their induction.
Experience teaching within KS1 is desirable.
Strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A positive, proactive, and reflective approach to teaching.
