No.2 Site Manager – Hospital Refurbishment

Location: Southampton

Contract: 4 Months

We are recruiting for an experienced No.2 Site Manager to support the successful delivery of a hospital refurbishment project in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established main contractor on a fast-paced healthcare scheme.

Working closely with the Site Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard of quality. Previous M&E experience is highly desirable, particularly within refurbishment environments.

Key Responsibilities

* Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the project.

* Coordinate subcontractors and site activities to ensure works are completed in line with programme.

* Maintain high standards of health and safety across site, ensuring compliance with all regulations.

* Monitor the quality of workmanship and ensure works meet project specifications.

* Assist with site inspections, progress reporting and programme updates.

* Liaise effectively with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team.

* Help resolve site issues promptly to minimise delays.

* Ensure site records, permits and documentation are maintained accurately.

Requirements

* Previous experience working as an Assistant Site Manager or No.2 Site Manager on refurbishment projects.

* Healthcare or hospital project experience would be advantageous.

* M&E experience is highly desirable.

* Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and site management processes.

* Excellent communication and organisational skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively within a busy project team.

* Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification.
