Freelance M&E Quantity Surveyor
Location: Surrey (On-site – Army Barracks)
Duration: Minimum 6 Months
Rate: £390 per day (Umbrella PAYE)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a major project based at an Army Barracks in Surrey.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical building services to work on a secure, long-term project.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial aspects of M&E packages from procurement through to final account.
Prepare and review valuations, variations, cost reports and forecasts.
Assess subcontractor applications and manage payments.
Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising project value.
Support the Project Manager with commercial reporting and contractual matters.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with project procedures.
Liaise with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor on commercial, industrial or public sector projects.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
Experience managing subcontractor accounts, variations and final accounts.
Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent industry experience.
