Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs? Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Corby area.
This rewarding role involves working closely with students who may experience challenges with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement in education. You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships whilst supporting their learning journey.
The Role:
Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
Building positive and trusting relationships with students.
Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals.
Encouraging engagement in lessons and promoting positive outcomes.
Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom environment.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with young people in education, care, youth work, support work, or similar settings.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Confidence managing challenging behaviour and supporting emotional needs.
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
