About this contract

£28 p/h CIS (10 hour day)

GBR Recruitment Ltd are recruiting for a team of x10 Concrete Finishers (CIS self-employed sub contractors) to work on a large scale concreting project (brush / broom finished concrete) over a contract duration of the next 4-6 months possibly longer.

As an experienced Concrete Finisher you will responsible for pouring, levelling, smoothing, shaping & finishing concrete surfaces, such as side-walks & roads, to specified textures & depths, whilst ensuring structural integrity & a defect-free brush finish.

Duties:

* Preparation: Set, align, and brace forms, moulds, and grades to the correct depth and pitch.

* Pouring & Spreading: Direct concrete delivery truck positioning, move chutes, and spread wet concrete using rakes and shovels.

* Smoothing: using hand tools (screeds, bull floats, hand trowels) and power equipment (ride-on trowels, laser screeds) to bring water to the surface and smooth slabs.

* Specialised Brush Finish / Texturing: producing a brushed finish to the concrete surfaces (also called a broom finish) to produce a high quality textured surface, by dragging a specialised bristled broom across wet concrete after it is levelled, creating shallow, parallel lines to improve slip resistance, providing better grip for vehicles.

* Curing & Repair: Monitor weather impacts on curing, apply sealing compounds, patch voids, and grind down any imperfections.

Attributes:

* Experienced Concrete Finisher

* CIS registered sub-contractor (self employed)

* Tool Proficiency: Skilled with hand trowels, edgers, groovers, power floats, and concrete saws.

* Able to read blueprints, measuring pitch/depth, and executing precise architectural specifications.

* CSCS Card

* Happy to work a 10 hour day shift for the above pay rate

* Live within commutable distance of Lincolnshire or be happy to stay in accommodation (local accommodation provided if required)

This role is commutable from Lincoln City, North Kesteven, South Kesteven, South Holland Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Humberside, East Lindsey & West Lindsey, plus areas of South Yorkshire.
