Protocol Education is working with a specialist secondary provision in Gateshead seeking a confident and personable Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join their team this September.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working with young people, understands the importance of boundaries and wants to build meaningful professional relationships with students.
The school has a calm, structured atmosphere and places significant emphasis on positive relationships, consistency and high expectations.

Your responsibilities
Supporting students with SEMH and behavioural needs
Building positive relationships with students
Supporting pupils in lessons
Encouraging engagement with learning
Promoting positive behaviour
Reinforcing boundaries and expectations
Supporting literacy development
Helping students develop confidence and independence
Supporting students during breakfast and lunchtime
Working alongside teaching and pastoral staff
The school also has a small twilight provision for students requiring additional support, and you may occasionally be involved in this provision.

Previous experience is beneficial but not essential if you can demonstrate the right attitude and transferable skills.
Longer-term staff may also have the opportunity to access Team Teach training, supporting staff with de-escalation and positive behaviour management strategies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
