NLB Solutions are working with a manufacturing business that are looking for a Qualified Accountant to join as a Financial Controller for a period of 6 months on a fixed term contract. Our client is looking for someone that comes from a similar background and work closely with hands on and dynamic MD. This role has one person reporting in to them and will be office based for the 6 months but this role is now live as the company will be recruiting for this role on a permanent basis in the future.

Duties:
* Lead the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
* Deliver accurate profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
* Prepare management accounts, KPI reporting, and detailed variance analysis.
* Ensure timely reporting to corporate finance teams.
* Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
* Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
* Develop and enhance reporting tools and financial analysis capabilities.
* Perform pricing evaluations and profitability analysis.
* Maintain compliance with UK statutory reporting requirements, US GAAP, SOX, and internal policies.
* Strengthen financial controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Ensure completion and sign-off of balance sheet reconciliations.
* Manage VAT returns, corporation tax packs, payroll submissions, and statutory filings.
* Lead annual standard cost roll and absorption costing activities.
* Oversee inventory valuation and annual stock take processes.
* Support operations with manufacturing performance reporting.
* Monitor capital expenditure and fixed asset management.
* Manage external and internal audit processes.
* Coordinate activities with tax, payroll, and R&D teams.
* Oversee working capital, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.
* Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
* Oversee OneStream reporting, budgeting, and forecasting submissions.
* Support ERP and finance system improvements.
* Manage lease accounting and reporting requirements.
Person Spec:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
* Significant experience in a Finance Director, Financial Controller, or senior finance leadership role.
* Manufacturing experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, SOX, and statutory reporting.
* Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
* Proven leadership and team development skills
