Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and aerospace sector, is seeking five C# Software Engineers to support an increased programme workload. These contract opportunities are based in Stevenage or Bristol and offer the chance to contribute to complex software projects involving desktop applications and hardware integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing, developing and maintaining desktop software applications using C#
Contributing to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to testing and delivery
Working with C++, Embedded C and C++ codebases where required
Supporting the integration of software with hardware and associated systems
Investigating technical issues and implementing effective software solutions
Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams across defence and aerospace programmes
Producing clear technical documentation and supporting software verification activities
Contributing to programme objectives in line with relevant quality and security requirements
Job Requirements:
Professional experience in C# software engineering, with strong desktop C# development capability
Knowledge of C++, Embedded C and C++ programming
Experience working within the defence and aerospace industry
Understanding of software development practices, testing and version control
Experience of hardware integration is desirable
Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team
Eligibility for SC security clearance and UK Eyes Only programme access
Working Arrangements:
Contract duration of 12 months, with potential for extension subject to programme requirements and performance
Based in Stevenage or Bristol
The role is typically structured around three to four days on site, with the remainder worked remotely
The first three months will be fully site-based, with some programmes requiring ongoing full-time site attendance
UK travel may be required depending on programme needs
Overtime opportunities may be available
