Role: CNC Turner - Setter/Operator
Location: Bristol
Salary: Negotiable
Term: 6 months (extension or permanent available)
Working hours: 6am - 2pm/2pm - 10pm (early finish on Fridays)
A leading precision engineering and advanced manufacturing business is looking for an experienced CNC Turner - Setter/Operator to join its manufacturing team in Bristol.
You will set and operate Fanuc-controlled CNC turning machines, producing high-precision components to engineering drawings, specifications and tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate CNC turning machines.
Set tooling, workholding, soft jaws, datums and offsets.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Inspect components using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and plug gauges.
Optimise speeds, feeds and cycle times.
Troubleshoot tooling, programme and machine issues.
Complete production and quality documentation.
Support continuous improvement, quality and safety standards.
About You
Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Setter-Operator.
Strong experience with Fanuc controls.
Confident setting CNC turning machines from drawings.
Good knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
Experienced using precision measuring equipment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Able to consistently produce quality components to specification.
Desirable: Aerospace/precision engineering experience, multi-spindle or multi-turret machines, OEE/FourJaw, CMM or Opticline experience.
