Are you passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential? Do you thrive in a role where no two days are the same? We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Witham.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive school community, helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally while making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment. You will provide classroom support, work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, and help to promote confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
You will play a key role in ensuring every child feels supported, valued, and encouraged to achieve their best, adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Requirements
* A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
* A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
* Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues
* Commitment to promoting an inclusive and positive learning environment
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience working in a primary school setting
* Experience supporting children with SEN or additional learning needs
* Ability to deliver one-to-one and small group interventions
* Strong behaviour management and classroom support skills
* Confidence supporting pupils' social and emotional development
* Creative and engaging approach to learning support
* Resilient, proactive, and flexible attitude
Qualifications
* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
* Qualification in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or a related field
* GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
* Relevant training or certifications relating to safeguarding or SEN support would be advantageous
* Candidates with transferable experience and a strong passion for education are encouraged to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
