Role details:
We are looking for a DV Cleared Network Engineer to support our defence client on a contract basis. This contract role will focus on network infrastructure, security, service support and crypto management within a high-profile technical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated network support at the Stevenage site, with Bolton and Bristol also within scope.
Support the effective delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of network services.
Own the remediation of identified network issues and risks, using reports and technical intelligence.
Support business initiatives as part of the wider network engineering team.
Build effective relationships with partners and external suppliers to optimise service delivery.
Work with security teams on security reporting, risk analysis and network assurance.
Collaborate with service management and network service teams to meet agreed requirements.
Work with crypto network specialists on crypto management and technical support.
Job Requirements:
Active DV Clearance.
Professional background in information technology and network engineering.
CCNA or CCNP qualification, or equivalent technical capability.
Demonstrable crypto experience and a strong understanding of crypto best practice.
Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Centre, Cisco ISE, Cisco best practice and Cisco Validated Designs.
Strong understanding of the OSI model and network communication protocols, including HSRP, VRRP, HTTP/S, OSPF, BGP, SSL and TCP/IP.
Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, RHEL, VMware and vSphere, with exposure to Software-Defined Access principles and deployments.
Understanding of authentication services, network cabling fundamentals and monitoring technologies such as Nagios, PRTG and SolarWinds.
