SL3 Area| Primary School Setting

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in the SL3 area to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in a nurturing school environment.

This role would suit an engaging and reliable individual who enjoys working with children and is committed to helping pupils thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning across the classroom, providing both group and one-to-one support to pupils.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom
Assisting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Helping to deliver engaging and structured lessons
Supporting children with varying abilities, including those with additional needs
Promoting a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Assisting with classroom preparation and resource management
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Encouraging independence and confidence in learning
Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Requirements

Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
A positive, proactive, and flexible approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners

Desirable

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant
Experience supporting children with SEN
Knowledge of phonics programmes (e.g., Read Write Inc., Little Wandle)
Understanding of safeguarding and school procedures
Relevant qualifications in education or childcare
