Wrexham 

Duties and key responsibilities - Operational

To operate hook lift vehicles in an appropriate manner which includes safe and secure loading practices, ensuring the loads carried comply with legal and environmental requirements, safe driving and within the current UK speed limits for heavy goods vehicles and provide an excellent standard of service to all customers
To ensure that all factors which may affect the operation are communicated to the Transport Office immediately, and where possible to colleagues to avoid problems.
To ensure that all the equipment on site or being driven on the highway is in a safe and working condition, and any defects are reported and acted upon immediately. To report any damage found or caused to all property owned or 3rd party.
To ensure all required documentation is provided or returned in a timely fashion and is legible. This includes the presentation of all documents associated with vehicle and working time directives, vehicle movements, weight tickets and ensuring tachograph, inspection-defect reports and digi-card print-outs are being stored and produced as required.
To follow work instructions and IMS procedures provided, and as indicated by line management. To complete all Health and Safety training and update as required.
To take all necessary precautions for the safety of all people, vehicles and plant as per Health and Safety Legislation; seeking guidance from the line manager and Transport Office as required.
To carry out all the vehicle daily checks and simple maintenance required recording as necessary. This includes vehicle chassis washing and equipment lubrication.
Have an understanding of VOSA regulations in terms of vehicle safety, graduated fixed penalties, and tachograph use for both digital and analogue.
Operate within current EU/UK driver’s hours regulations which include adequate daily rest and maximum weekly driving time.
To report any accident affecting vehicles, equipment, self or third parties to the Transport Office.
To carry out any other reasonable tasks as required or demanded by the Contract and Line Management.
Experience

Clean HGV licence C+E minimum, digital driver card essential
Hookloader and drawbar experience preferred but not essential, full training given.
Drivers CPC with 35 hours training essential.
Literate and numerate, and able to complete the various daily operational documents.
Must have a valid digital tachograph card.
Experience within the waste management industry is desirable.
WORKING HOURS:

Monday to Friday 06.30 - 15.00 with every other Saturday Morning
PAY RATES:

£15.72 p/h
